Lesson 1: Introduction to Sanskrit and Vedic Science

In this lesson we explore the fundamental concepts of Vedic Science and the Sanskrit Language. 

In this lesson, you will:

  • Learn about one of the most fascinating of all languages, Sanskrit.
  • Discover the amazing benefits of studying Sanskrit including its effects on the human brain.
  • Gain deep and life changing insights into fundamental principles of Vedic science and how the universe works. 
  • Learn about the concepts of Veda, Puruṣa, Prakṛti and Mahat.
  • Learn several important Sanskrit concepts such as Nāmarūpa and vocabulary words.

Lesson 2: Introduction to the Varṇa Part 1: The Vowels

In this lesson, you will learn about the Sanskrit alphabet or Varṇamālā. You will get a precise understanding of Sanskrit pronunciation as you learn how the vowels are arranged and formed with the mouth. You will also contain to explore concepts of Vedic science and how they relate to the study of the Sanskrit language. 

In this lesson, you will…

  • Review the key concepts of Vedic Science you learned about in the last lesson.
  • Learn about the Varṇamālā or Sanskrit alphabet.
  • Learn how to correctly pronounce all of the vowels of the Sanskrit language, how they are organized and how write them in the Roman script. 
  • Learn about the International Alphabet of Sanskrit Transliteration (IAST) the method we use to transliterate Devanāgarī script into Roman script.
  • Talk about other ways you will sometimes see Sanskrit written.
  • Begin to experience the coherence creating effects of the Sanskrit language and have a great time doing it!

Lesson 3: Writing the Vowels

In this lesson, you will learn about the Devanāgarī script while learning to write the Sanskrit vowels.

In this lesson you will…

  • Review the Sanskrit vowels from lesson 2, how to pronounce them as well as where they originate in the mouth.
  • Learn how to write the vowels in Devanāgarī script.
